OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team sits in 11th place after opening their 2022 spring season with a first-round score of 327 (+43) at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invite at the Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Josie Patterson led OBU with an opening-round 80 on the par 71 course, good for a tie at 32nd place on the individual leaderboards. She shot par on eight holes today, including five on the front nine.
Following Patterson was Hayden Meiser, who finished round one tied at 42nd after a six-over showing while Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch turned in a matching round score of 82. Nunez-Butzonitch's performance on the back nine was a team-best, carding a birdie and four consecutive pars to shoot three over.
Lindyn Ross fired a twelve-over 83, despite finishing the front nine eight-over. Ross battled back to shoot 39 (+4) on the back nine, ending the day tied for 49th. Freshman Karlee Holcomb is tied for 54th after shooting 84 (+13) while Rylei Gunter concluded the day tied for 62nd.
Abby Boren finished seventh in scoring for OBU, while Izzy Lette and Kailee McCrary are tied at 82nd.
Oklahoma Baptist will conclude play tomorrow with tee times set to begin a 9:30 a.m.
