SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist was well-represented on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Soccer team that was announced on Tuesday.
Asley Baker,
Alanna Bloomingdale,
Katie Fowler,
Mia Pendleton and
Maddison Williams garnered First Team honors and in doing so, advanced on to the CSC Academic All-America ballot that will be announced in a few weeks.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have possessed at least a 3.50 grade point average, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials.
Baker, a sophomore exercise science major, has started every match (40) since she arrived on campus last fall. In that time, she has aided the Bison defense to 19 shutouts, including seven this past season.
Another defender, Williams, a senior biology major, is now a two-time Academic All-District selection. She is the only Bison player to own that recognition. Over the last two seasons, Williams has played in 38 games, was a two-time All-GAC First-Team honoree and been arguably the team's best player.
Rounding out the defensive players on this list was Pendleton, a junior exercise science major. This fall, she ranked third in the GAC in shutouts (6) and fifth in goals against average (1.57).
On the offensive end was Bloomingdale and Fowler.
A junior exercise science major, Bloomingdale scored a trio of goals and added an assist to help the green and gold reach its sixth straight GAC Tournament Final. As for Fowler, a senior nursing major, she ranked in the top three of the conference in goals (9), assists (4) and points (22). Fowler was also a three-time GAC Player of the Week recipient, making her one of just two Bison to accomplish that in single season.
