MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Bison climbed one spot to tie for fifth overall after the final round of play at the Midwest Fall Classic on Tuesday afternoon.
Oklahoma Baptist cut its score by 12 strokes to card a 330 (+42) in the closing round among a 17-team field with three nationally ranked squads.
Josie Patterson overtook the lead for OBU after shooting a six-over 78, a four-stroke improvement from the opening round.
Patterson tied for seventh to record her second top-10 finish of the season. After shooting six-over on the back nine, the senior turned on another gear on the turn for the second straight day. She shot even through the last nine, a stroke better than Monday.
Furthermore, Patterson carded the second most pars (22) in the competition.
Morgan Becker turned in an 83 (+11) for a tie at 15th to complete OBU's participants in the top 20. Lindyn Ross was next at 42nd, cutting her strokes by two to record a 13-over 85.
Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch and Karlee Holcomb rounded out the bunch in ties for 61st and 93rd. Nunez-Butzonitch shot a 12-over 84, 10 strokes less than her inaugural round, while Holcomb charted a 91 (+19).
Today's action concludes the fall portion of OBU's season. The Bison will return to the course in the spring of 2023.
