RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference league office announced Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch as the conference player of the week after she claimed her first career individual victory at the OBU Invitational on Tuesday.
This is the first time Nunez-Butzonitch has earned the GAC player of the week recognition in her career.
Nunez-Butzonitch secured her first victory in dynamic fashion, as she and another were forced into a two-hole playoff after tying for first place after the conclusion of the second round. Both players went par at the first hole of extras, which led to Nunez-Butzonitch sealing the deal with a birdie on the following hole.
Overall, Nunez-Butzonitch shot 151, including a 73 (+1) in round one of the tournament.
The Bison will be back in action next week for the Grace Shin Invitational in Edmond.
