OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's swim teams took the pool for the second time this spring. The Bison claimed 19 wins in 28 events in the Friday evening duel with the Eagles.

Estevao Hornos earned an NCAA b-cut in the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 20.14. This was Hornos's second meet of the season, having been in Brazil in the fall due to travel restrictions. He also won the 100 yard freestyle having beaten out Elijah Tung of the Eagles by 1.23 seconds.

The Bison women won the overall event with a team score of 959 to the Eagles 895. OBU also claimed 10 of the 19 event wins.

Jamie Edwards led the women with three individual event wins, 50 yard freestyle (24.67), 100 yard freestyle (54.73), and the 100 yard butterfly (1:00.58).

Camila Alduenda (100 yard backstroke),
Emma Jorgensen (200 yard backstroke and 200 yard IM), and
Anna Tindall (100 and 200 yard breaststroke) rounded out the individual wins for the team.

On the men's side, Bison team captain
William Newman led the team with three individual wins. He won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 51.69, 200 yard backstroke (1:56.74), and the 100 yard butterfly (51.32).

Nathan Chan also had a strong outing have won the 100 yard breaststroke (59.82) and 200 yard breaststroke (2:12.61).Â

OBU once again also found success in the relays with the women taking the both the 400 yard freestlye (3:41.37) and the 200 yard medley (1:50.01). The men were just edged out .07 seconds in 200 yard medley but won the 400 yard freestyle by .12 seconds.

"Really fun meet tonight," said Head Coach
Matt Hood. "We had some dominating wins and a new NCAA b-cut which is exciting at this point in the season. I am looking forward to where we are going to be in a few weeks when we travel to conference," said Hood.
