EDMOND, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's swim team returned to action at the Eagle Invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Friday. The Bison capped off day one chalking up three wins and one NCAA qualifying mark.

On the women's side, OBU swept the relays asÂ
Camila Alduenda,
Jamie Edwards,
Megan Gallagher, and
Julie Day edged out Oklahoma Christian 1:36.13 to 1:37.09 in the 200 yard freestyle. Alduenda, Day, Edwards, and
Anna Tindall then captured the 400 yard medley with a time of 3:50.55.

Gallagher took the speed event beating out OC's Jamie McGarrigle in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.21.

David Garcia on the men's team earned his first NCAA qualifying mark with a time of 20.73 in the 50 yard freestyle. Garcia joined the Bison this fall, transferring from Barton Community College.

"Today went really well. The team was able to keep their emotions in check and swam fast," said Head Coach
Matt Hood. "I was impressed with the way everyone stepped up. We are going to take every opportunity we have and swim as fast as we can."

OBU will return to action for day two of the Eagle Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 14. Prelims are set for 10Â a.m. and finals will follow at 7Â p.m.
