SHAWNEE - Former Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball greatÂ
Antonio Wade signed a pro contract with K.K. Promo Donji Vakuf, a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I League.
"I'm excited to start my professional career with K.K. Promo Donji Vakuf," said Wade. "I had an amazing experience at OBU. Thank you to Coach Eaker and the staff for helping to prepare me for this opportunity."
Wade, a 6-1 guard from Marietta, Ga., joined OBU for his senior season in 2018-19 after playing previously at Young Harris College. At OBU, Wade led the team in points per game (16.1), assists (145) and steals (32). He scored in double figures in 25-of-28 games including a season-high 36 in a win against Northwestern Oklahoma State and was named the Great American Conference Newcomer of the Year. He was also a second team selection for all-conference.Â
"We are thrilled for Antonio getting this opportunity in Bosnia's top league," said Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jason Eaker. "
Antonio Wade is everything I love about coaching and he is so deserving of this opportunity. We are just looking forward to continuing to build our relationship with him in the next 10-20 years. He's so much more than an athlete and a player and we love him very much."
Wade was a key piece to OBU turning the program around in Eaker's first season, finishing 16-14 and going from last place to third in the GAC.
This begins Wade's professional career as the season hopes to begin in October.
