GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Oklahoma Baptist men's swimming and diving team jumped into the first day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships as they sit in second place with 152.5 points.

Freshman Estevao Hornos bested his time from earlier in prelims by one tenth of a second to take the with in the 50 free with a time of 20.29. Fellow Bison freshman
Daniel Santos earned a second place finish in the event with a time of 20.59. Both times from Hornos and Santos were NCAA B Cut times.Â
Alexander Leff and Coton Wyatt also added top eight finishes in the 50 free, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively.

Alfredo Arrieche placed sixth in the 1000 free with a time of 9:57.63 whileÂ
Tristan Villa was seventh with a time of 9:58.58.

Finishing off the night for OBU was the 200 medley relay team consisting of Santos,
Thomas Peterson, Leff, and Hornos. The team took home a second place finish with a time of 1:30.03.
Day two of competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. with events all day such as the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, and the men's 1-meter dive.    Â
