ROUND 1 RESULTS
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team opened up the 2019 fall season at the Central Region Fall Preview, shooting a 310 (+22) on Tuesday afternoon to sit in seventh place overall, just eight strokes off the lead.
Senior
Elly Baze and sophomores
Josie Patterson and
Hayden Meiser all shot a 76 (+4) in first round action to sit in a tie for 13th place. Senior
Michelle Carr followed that up with an 82 (+10) on the day while junior
Shelby Phillips carded an 89 (+17).
Baze was especially excellent in Par 5 scoring as she shot -1 for the day. Meiser was steady all round with 13 pars, good for fourth among the field, while Baze added 12. Carr carded a pair of birdies on the day.
"I am really proud of how the ladies played for there first round and first tournament of the year," said Head Coach
Mike Manlapig. "If we clean it up just a little (tomorrow), then we will be right there for a great finish."
Rogers State leads the pack with a 302 (+12) while Henderson State, Central Missouri, and Sioux Falls all shot a 303 (+13) to sit in a three-way tie for second. Harding is just two strokes ahead of OBU with a score of 308 (+20).Â
