KINGSVILLE, Texas – The OBU track and field programs wrapped up competition at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships Saturday night by claiming top-four national finishes in a pair of events.

For the second straight year, the OBU women's 4x400 relay team achieved All-America status.
McKae Mitchell,
JoziRose Mayfield,
Sherine Van Der Westhuizen, and
Cameka Witter recorded a mark of 3:40.85 to finish fourth overall.

Last year's relay team, which also included Mitchell, Mayfield, and Van Der Westhuizen, finished sixth at the NCAA Championships and earned the first outdoor track and field All-America honors in OBU program history.

Witter also earned All-America status Saturday by virtue of her third-place finish in the women's 400 final. The sophomore from Kingston, Jamaica, turned in a time of 54.71 to finish just behind Renea Ambersley (54.60) and Kissi-Ann Brown (53.62) from Lincoln (Mo.).

With 11 total points, the Lady Bison finished in a tie for 22
nd in the team standings, their highest NCAA outdoor finish in program history. They finished 16
th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.

The Lincoln (Mo.) women took the national crown with 64 points, while Ashland narrowly edged out Angelo State, 54-53, in the men's standings.

With the conclusion of the NCAA meet, OBU wraps up competition for the 2018-19 school year.
