EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist remained in fourth place at the conclusion of the second and final round of play at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational Women's Golf Tournament. The two-day, 36-hole event featured seven teams and was played at Edmond's KickingBird Golf Club.
OBU shot a second-day 316 after opening with a 315 on Monday. The Lady Bison finished with a 36-hole total of 630, one stroke behind third-place Northwest Missouri State. Southwestern Oklahoma State was the winning team finishing with rounds of 281 and 298 for a 579, 27 strokes better than the second-place hosts, Southern Nazarene.
OBU's
Hayden Meiser finished with a final round 77 and ended with a 17-over-par score of 157, tying her for 11
th place.
The top scorer in the 51-golfer field was SWOSU's Gloria Choi who shot a one-under, 139. Choi finished six strokes ahead of her teammate Chloe Thackeray.
OBU's counting scores, in addition to Meiser, came from
Michelle Carr and
Shannen Stewart, who finished in a four-way tie for 13
th. Carr carded rounds of 77-81 (158) while Stewart shot rounds of 81-77 for the same 158 total.
The final OBU score came from
Elly Baze, who finished in a tie for 20
th after rounds of 79 and 81 for a 160 (+20).
The Lady Bison will next play Monday, March 18, at the Missouri Western Holiday Invite in St. Joseph, Missouri.
