JOPLIN, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist posted its best finish in program history at the Central Regional Championship, finishing 13th overall. The Bison had finished 18th in their previous two trips to the regional meet since making the jump to Division II in 2017.
Averaging 33:02 on the 10-kilometer course, the Bison were the top representative from the Great American Conference. The top five runners for OBU finished with a spread of 1:50.7. Four of OBU's top five runners were either freshmen or sophomores.
Noah Eskew led the Bison with a 28th-place finish after clocking in with a time 31:42.0; the sophomore beat his previous time on the same course last year by nearly a minute.
Cameron Mills was the second Bison across the line, clocking in with a time of 33:07.6 to place 90th overall, besting his time from last year by 8.5 seconds.
Blake Cope placed 95th overall after completing the course in 33:17.3.
DeAngelo Robles posted a time of 33:28.8, good for 104th, while
Steven Clark clocked in at 33:32.6 to claim 107th.
Serving as displacers for OBU were
Jarrett Ellis in 108th with a time of 33:34.4 and
Parker Ables in 164th overall with a time of 35:44.2.
