SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist continues Great American Conference action Saturday welcoming Ouachita Baptist to Mabee Arena at the Noble Complex. The Bison will be looking for their fifth conference win in six outings and will try to stay atop the GAC standings. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. "Buy-one, get-one" tickets will be available for purchase as part of the OBU's month-long "Fanuary" fan-appreciation campaign.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Brantly Thompson scored 20 and Dishon Lowery added 19 as the Bison defeated visiting Henderson State, 89-77. The win improved OBU to 5-6 on the year and 4-1 in conference play.
  • Antonio Wade scored 14 points and Harrison Stoddart added 13 to complete the double figure scoring.
  • OBU ended the game with advantages both in shooting percentage and rebounding. The Bison were 30-of-63 for 47.6 percent while making 10 three pointers. HSU managed just 43.2 percent on 32-of-74 shooting from the field.

OBU BY THE NUMBERS
  • Oklahoma Baptist is 5-6 overall and 4-1 in the GAC. The Bison are tied with Southern Nazarene, Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas for first in the GAC standings.
  • OBU has won four of its six home games this season only losing to Rogers State and Central Oklahoma in that span.
  • OBU is the GAC's top scoring team averaging just over 84 points per game. The Bison have twice scored over 90 points this year, topping out at 119 in a win over Manhattan College.
  • Antonio Wade leads the way for the Bison in scoring averaging 16.7 points per game. He has been the team's leading scorer four times, the last of which came when he had 12 in a 76-66 win against East Central
  • Brantly Thompson has raised his scoring average to 10.5 points per game. He has two consecutive games where he has led the team in scoring averaging 21.0 points and shooting 58 percent connecting on 15-of-26 shots from the field.
  • OBU is the second most accurate shooting team in the GAC. The Bison are making nearly 49 percent of their field goal attempts. Only East Central (50.2) is shooting a higher percentage.

OUACHITA BY THE NUMBERS
  • Ouachita is 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the GAC. The Tigers are tied for ninth in the league standings with Northwestern Oklahoma. Ouachita has lost four consecutive games last winning Nov. 29 at home against Arkansas Tech.
  • Ouachita is 1-4 on the year as a visitor. The Tigers lone home win came in a 77-72 victory against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Nov. 23.
  • Mahlon Martin leads OBU in scoring averaging 16.9 points per game. He leads the GAC in three-point baskets making 27 in nine games, an average of 3.0 per game.  He also tops the conference in free throw percentage at 93 percent making 27-of-29 attempts.
