Football to Host Senior Showcase Day

SHAWNEE –  High school senior football players who have yet to sign a NCAA National Letter of Intent will have an opportunity to showcase their talents through a series of physical testing and position specific drills under the supervision of Head Coach Chris Jensen and members of his Oklahoma Baptist coaching staff.

The one-day, four-hour evaluation will be Saturday, March 30 beginning at 12 noon at the football practice facilities. An optional campus tour is available for participants before the training sessions at 10:45 a.m.

Athletes will be measured for height, weight and reach in addition to vertical jump, bench press, 40-yard dash, broad jump and other testing drills.

Players will take part in offensive and defensive workouts before one-on-one competitive activities.

Participants are asked to bring football cleats and tennis shoes (in case of indoor activities). Drills will be non-contact so players will not wear helmets or shoulder pads.

Jensen said he encourages all the participants to bring copies of transcripts, resumes and/or game film  at the conclusion of the event.
