SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist men's cross country are set to open the season at the Central Oklahoma Land Run on Saturday, Sept. 1. The meet will be held in Edmond on the campus of Edmond Santa Fe High School.

The Bison claimed second place at the same meet last season, with all five scoring runners in the top 20. As a team, OBU averaged 20:51.28 at the event. Over the last three seasons, OBU hasn't finished lower than fifth at the same meet.

Three of OBU's top runners from last year's Land Run return for this year's edition of the race, including
DeAngelo Robles (16th, 21:02.76),
Garrett Elmore (17th, 21:04.38) and
Jarrett Ellis (19th, 21:11.47).
Nathan Crowson finished just outside the scoring spots with a time of 21:15.14.

Saturday's meet will also mark the return of
Blaine Whitson after the redshirt senior took a year off in 2017; in 2016 he crossed the line in 21:33.90.
