Swimmers Back in Action This Weekend

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist returns to the water this weekend with an intrasquad meet Friday and the Southern Methodist University Pre-conference Time Trial in Dallas, Texas.
 
The Lady Bison are ranked 31^st and the Bison 13^th heading into the weekend.
 
David Lambert (19.17) is ranked No. 1 and Chad Brandon (20.20) 10^th in the 50 free. Andre del Rio also has a B standard time in that event. Lambert is ranked fourth in the 100 freestyle with an A time of 43.60 with Brandon, Del Rio, Austin Saunders and JP Goyetche owning B standard qualifying marks. Kristijan Stunkovic has a B standard time in the 200 free.
 
Felipe Ramirez Zapata has a B standard qualifying time in the 200 backstroke.
 
Fernando Morillas Ramos (54.36) is ranked fourth in the 100 breaststroke and Brandon has a B standard qualifying mark as well. Morillas also is ranked eighth in the 200 breaststroke at 1:58.72.
 
Stunkovic is ranked 10^th in the 200 butterfly at 1:48.66 with Tristan Villa owning a B standard time in the event. Del Rio, Zapata and Saunders all have B standard times in the 100 butterfly.
 
Stunkovic and Alex Mundt have B level qualifying times in the 400 individual medley.
 
OBU is ranked second in the 200 free relay with an A time of 1:19.23, fifth in the 200 medley relay at 1:28.70, 10^th in the 400 medley relay at 3:17.10 and has B standards in the 400 and 800 free relays.
 
OBU has added Marti Penedes, a sophomore freestyle entrant from Barcelona, Spain.
 
As for the Lady Bison, Victoria Fonville owns an A standard and the top time in the 50 freestyle at 22.59 with a B standard held by Tammy Price.
 
Price (54.93) is ranked second, Suzanne Afchain (55.45) eighth and Celina Marquez (55.48) ninth in the 100 backstroke. Marquez is seventh in the 200 backstroke at 2:00.75 with Price and Afchain owning B standards in the event.
 
Price and Marquez have B standard times in the 100 butterfly. Marquez also has a B standard in the 200 IM and Marizel Van Jaarsveld made her debut last weekend with a B standard in the 400 IM.
 
Jamie Edwards also joined the squad this month. Both Edwards and Van Jaarsveld are freshmen from South Africa.
