Lehtonen Named Preseason Diver of the Year

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's Otto Lehtonen is the 2017-18 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Preseason Diver of the Year, the league office announced Thursday.
 
Lehtonen is a sophomore from Turku, Finland, that earned First Team All-RMAC status in one-meter and three-meter diving at the 2017 RMAC Championships. He was named RMAC Diver of the Meet after dominating the one-meter championship by nearly 22 points and finishing runner-up in the three-meter diving competition. Lehtonen is also a member of the Preseason All-RMAC team for 2017-18.
 
JP Goyetche was named Preseason All-RMAC following an impressive performance at the RMAC Championships last season. Goyetche, a senior from Noumea, New Caledonia, was named First Team All-RMAC in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay. He was named the RMAC Swimmer of the Week last October.
 
The 2018 RMAC Championships last from Feb. 14-17 in Lewisville, Texas.
