SHAWNEE – After a 2-0 start to the season, Oklahoma Baptist volleyball looks to continue a strong beginning to 2017 with a pair of matches Saturday at the Bahama House Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Lady Bison face Missouri S&T at 11 a.m. Central before ending the season-opening road trip against Lynn at 3 p.m. Central. Both games will be played at the ICI Center on the campus of Embry-Riddle (Fla.).

Nicole Fleitman has dominated through two games, averaging 9.0 kills, 12.5 assists and 11.5 digs per match. Freshman

Cadyn Laing picked up right where she left off after a program-record 140 blocks in 2016. Laing has 13 blocks and is averaging 1.86 blocks per set.

The Miners are 0-2, dropping the season opener to Barry in straight sets before falling to Lynn in five sets Friday afternoon. Carlie Combs leads the way with 22 kills through the first two matches while Sarah McGinnis (35 assists) and Alexis White (32 assists) have shared setting duties. Corinne Stulce is averaging 4.25 digs per set and Carson Talley has a 1.25 blocks per set average.

The Fighting Knights have played just one match this season, rallying to defeat Missouri S&T 3-2 (25-22, 15-25, 26-28, 25-22, 15-12) in their season opener. Sonja Udovcic had 12 kills to pace the team and Andrea McDonald picked up 30 digs. Angala Jensen finished with 42 assists in the marathon five-set victory and Lauren Odom collected 11 block assists. Lynn will face Barton in their first game Saturday before taking on the Lady Bison.

Following Saturday's contests, the Lady Bison will return home for a week before heading to Bolivar, Missouri, for the Southwest Baptist Tournament Sept. 8-9.
