SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist track begins title defense at the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships Thursday.

All events will be hosted from Thursday through Saturday at the Hurt Memorial Track on the campus of OBU.

The Bison and Lady Bison have combined to win the last six NCCAA track championships after sweeping the 2016 indoor and outdoor championships and winning the 2017 indoor championship earlier this year.

Competition begins 2 p.m. Thursday with the start of the heptathlon and decathlon. Combined events wrap up Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m. Track and field events begin Friday at 2 p.m. and wrap up Saturday, starting at noon. The championship opening ceremonies are set for 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

Bison men have posted six top marks in the NCCAA this year, and the Lady Bison own the top spot in eight different events.

Phillip Spess owns the top mark in the pole vault at 15-9.
Jordan Patterson has best long jump (24-2.25) and triple jump (46-11.75) in the NCCAA this year.
Hayden Ashley (6539 points) and
Andrew Worley (6456 points) are first and second, respectively, in the decathlon.

McKae Mitchell has the fastest 200 meters in the NCCAA at 24.07 and
Emily Sechrist set the top mark in the 3000 meter steeplechase in 10:52.55.
Leah Molter has the top time in the 100 meters hurdles (13.70) and the 400 meter hurdles (1:00.81).
Jennifer Baker has the best mark in the discus (146-3) and
Lacey Herbert set the top mark in the heptathlon (4383 points). The Lady Bison also own the top times in both the 4x400 meter relay (3:45.63) and the 4x800 meter relay (9:09.92).
