KEARNEY, Neb. – Oklahoma Baptist didn't have the finish it wanted but may have gotten a start it needed at the Central Region Men's Cross Country Meet Saturday.

While the team finished 18
th, Coach
Mark Heard and the team made its first appearance at the meet and knows first-hand how to improve.

"We didn't finish as high as I wanted us to, but I'm just really proud of this team and the effort they put in this year," Heard said. "We ran tough and we will work hard to get ready for next year."

With no seniors on the six-man roster Saturday, OBU now has the experience under its belt.

The Bison finished with 460 points and was second among Great American Conference schools. Augustana won with 43 points and moves on to the championship meet along with Missouri Southern and Central Missouri.

Jacob Janzen led the OBU contingent on the 10-kilometer course in 49
th at 33:17.2.
Patrick Harris was 54
th at 33.23.4.

Nathan Crowson was 98
th at 34:15.8,
Garrett Elmore was 117
th at 34:41.3 and
DeAngelo Robles rounded out the scoring in 150
th at 36:04.2.
