SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball returns to the floor today for their final two matches of the Eckerd College Invitational. The first match takes place at 12:30 p.m. EDT against New Haven before the Lady Bison wrap up their time in St. Petersburg, Florida, with a 7:30 p.m. EDT tilt against the hosts from Eckerd College.

The Lady Bison find themselves at 2-0 after the first day of competition, and have yet to drop a set in the tournament.
Nicole Fleitman and
Mikayla Watson are both averaging over more than four kills per set, while
Shekinah Sharpe is averaging 2.33 kills per set to provide a third option on the floor. That has greatly benefitted sophomore setter
Kynnedy Myers, who has 68 total assists through two matches.

On the defensive end, Oklahoma Baptist has held opponents to a miserly .064 hitting percentage, accumulating 11 total blocks and averaging 16.8 digs per set. Sharpe has been all over the backcourt, leading the team in both total digs (24) and digs per set (4.00).
Katrina Horner, the newly christened libero for the Lady Bison, is averaging 3.67 digs/set.

New Haven went 1-1 on the opening day of the Invitational, with their loss coming against Eckerd. Kristine Rios leads the way with 13 kills and 29 assists through two matches. Carleigh Crews has been solid for the Chargers in defense, matching Sharpe at 4.00 digs/set.

Eckerd College sits at 2-0 following Friday's matches. Katie Arnett and Kali Boatwright are both laying down better than three kills/set. It will be a battle between Myers and EC's Gabriella Reis to see who can set up their teammates better, as Reis is averaging 10.00 assists per set. Boatwright also leads the Tritons with 4.00 digs/set.

Oklahoma Baptist returns to the floor on Wednesday, Sept. 7 for a match against Central Oklahoma in Hamilton Fieldhouse in Edmond.
