SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist finishes off the season in football Saturday, welcoming Great American Conference rival Southern Nazarene for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

OBU closes out the season, faces its arch-rival Southern Nazarene and bids adieu to 18 seniors in this game.

The Bison come into the game with memories of last year's overtime loss in Bethany. Southern Nazarene got a field goal to tie the game with no time remaining and then stopped a two-point conversion for an overtime win against the Bison last year, 33-32. Jacob Ellis ran for 158 yards and Dezmond Stegall passed for 235. Terrence Olds rushed for 160 yards for SNU. For their efforts, SNU was awarded Game of the Year honors across all sports in the Great American Conference for 2015-16.

The Bison remain No. 1 in the NCCAA rankings, which are based on the Massey Rating index.

Dezmond Stegall added his name to two more lines in the record book last week when he reached 2,063 yards and 19 touchdown passes. Stegall this season also set school records with 25 completions and 332 passing yards at Southwestern Oklahoma State. He also now has the record for passes completed in a season at 171.

Cagney Roberson reeled in 128 yards receiving last week and was one yard shy of the single game record at OBU of 129, held by Nyko Symonds and Eric DeLay. There have been a total of four 100-yard receiving games by Bison this season. Isaiah Mallory had 98 at Henderson State, just missing a fifth.

Charles Taylor III and D'Ante Meeking share the team interception lead with three apiece after Meeking had a pick-six last week. Devontrae Young has two interceptions. Taylor and Young missed the entire game last week and Meeking sat out the second half with injuries.

Bison linebacker Levi Jennings needs 14 tackles to become the second Bison to register 100 tackles in a season. Zack Bishop holds the record at 106, set last season.
