Brooklynn James is a record-holding hurdler from Dibble High School.
A five-time State Champion for Coaches Randy Barker and Jennifer Garner, James is the only female track athlete at Dibble. She has won the 300 hurdles three times, won the long jump as a freshman and the 800 as a sophomore. She set the Class 2A State record in the 300 hurdles last spring at 44.28.
Her best marks in other events last spring were 17-10.5 in the long jump, 2:22 in the 800 and 15.41 in the 100 hurdles.
The daughter of Scott James and Alicia James, Brooklynn also is a three-year member of the National Honor Society and in the top 10 in her class.
Recruited by Oral Roberts, Central Oklahoma and Murray State, James said "I chose to come to OBU because it is where I believe the Lord led me to be. It was also one of the only colleges where I truly felt at home. I was able to envision myself here on the first visit."
