SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist will be taking on more than one opponent when they square off with East Central on Thursday, Oct. 26 when the Tigers visit the Noble Complex for a 7 p.m. tilt.

The Lady Bison, in conjunction with The Side-Out Foundation, will be hosting their annual "Dig Pink" Night as part of the Thursday night festivities. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and OBU will be using their volleyball match on Thursday to help raise funds for cancer research through The Side-Out Foundation.

Oklahoma Baptist (14-11, 8-3 GAC) has won one of their last four matches, but still maintain a share of first place in the Great American Conference. The Lady Bison will be looking to repay East Central for a five-set loss suffered on the road earlier this season. Tomorrow night's contest will also be OBU's penultimate home showcase, and the Lady Bison are 7-3 at home this year.

Offensively, OBU is paced by
Nicole Fleitman at 2.88 kills per set. She is aided by two of the most efficient attacking threats in the league in the forms of
Kynnedy Myers (.312) and
Cadyn Laing (.306). Laing is second on the team at 2.09 kills/set, while Myers is averaging 1.32 kills/set from her position as setter. Myers also accounts for 8.57 assists per set.

Defensively, the Lady Bison are led by the senior duo of
Sierra VeraCruz and
Shekinah Sharpe with 3.82 and 3.74 digs per set, respectively. At the net, Laing leads the way with 1.09 blocks per set, and, as a team, the Lady Bison rank second with a set average of 2.14 blocks.

East Central (7-18, 3-8 GAC) has won just two of their last six matches, and have yet to earn a road win against GAC competition this term. The side is led on offense by Madyson Gill at 2.66 kills/set, the primary benefactor of Taylor Turner's 7.91 assists/set. Lily Porsa paces the side from the back row with an average of 4.10 digs/set to her credit.

Following the conclusion of Thursday's contest, OBU will head to Alva, Oklahoma, to face Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m.
