SHAWNEE – The final non-conference match of 2016 for Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball is set for Tuesday, Oct. 18 as the Lady Bison welcome the Lions of Arkansas-Fort Smith to the Noble Complex for a 6 p.m. contest. Tuesday's match will be the third of a three-match homestand, and fans of OBU Volleyball will have only two more chances to catch the Lady Bison live after the conclusion of tomorrow night's contest.

Oklahoma Baptist (13-9) fell in their last match, 3-2, against Arkansas-Monticello, but haven't lost back-to-back matches this season since breaking out of a six-match skid early in the season. The Lady Bison have won four out of their last five matchups.

The Lady Bison are led offensively by
Nicole Fleitman, who is laying down 2.94 kills per set this season.
Cadyn Laing and
Shekinah Sharpe have also been able to terminate, averaging 2.04 and 1.96 kills/set, respectively.
Kynnedy Myers, who last week averaged a triple-double, is handing out 8.69 assists per set. Oklahoma Baptist has been lethal on the serve this season, averaging 1.52 service aces per set.
Darby Maclea leads the team at a .38 ace/set clip.

Defensively, Oklahoma Baptist is averaging 16.86 digs per set. Sharpe and
Sierra VeraCruz have been all over the back row, pacing the team at 3.77 and 3.74 digs per set each. At the net, Laing leads a team that is averaging 2.14 blocks per set with a set average of 1.11 blocks.

Arkansas-Fort Smith (14-5) hasn't lost a match in over a month, dropping only six sets amidst an 11-match winning streak. Kennedi Coleman leads an offense that is averaging 12.2 kills/set with 4.07 kills/set to her credit. Erin Black, who is averaging 8.95 assists/set, leads the team in the category, though Eliza Piccirillo has been responsible for 3.74 assists/set as well. Defensively, Emily Tripp leads the team with 6.71 digs/set, while Shannon Thompson leads at the net with 1.11 blocks/set.

Following Tuesday's contest, Oklahoma Baptist will resume Great American Conference play with a trip to Arkansas to face Arkansas Tech in Russellville at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21.
