MALIBU, Calif. – Oklahoma Baptist established four meet records in the final day of the Malibu Invitational, hosted by Pepperdine University.

The records came a day after OBU had only one victory in the pool.

"We woke up," said Bison Coach Sam Freas. "We're not a distance team; we're a sprint team. We learned a lot about ourselves in this meet. This team reminds me a lot of my first team here – we've got a lot of good young kids that we need to develop."

Marc Sambolin and
Julien Goyetche won the 200 free relay Friday in 1:23.57.

Goyetche won the 50 backstroke in 23.52 for a new meet record, the 100 free in a meet record 45.96 and won the 100 backstroke in 51.03 seconds.

Brandon won the 50 butterfly in 22.54 seconds and the 50 freestyle in a meet-record 20.74 seconds. He also took second in the 100 breaststroke in 56.32 seconds and was fourth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:09.34.

OBU also won the 300 free relay in a meet-record 2:06.36. The six-member relay was Brandon, Goyetche, Sambolin, Hill,
Thomas Peterson and
Ryan Walker.

Felipe Ramirez won the 100 butterfly in 50.68 seconds and was fourth in the 200 butterfly in 1:54.44 and the 100 individual medley at 54.75.

Peterson led the Bison in the 50 breaststroke in third place with a 26.72 time.

Nico Brun was second in the 200 backstroke at 1:53.84.

Kristijan Stunkovic placed sixth in the 200 freestyle in 1:44.61.

OBU returns to action in two weeks at the Hendrix Relays in Conway, Ark.
