Bison Travel to Southeastern Saturday

Oklahoma Baptist and Southeastern Oklahoma State, both hunting for the first win of the football season, square off in Durant Saturday.

Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

Southeastern is in unfamiliar territory, going 0-2 for the first time since 2008. The Savage Storm hasn't begun a season at 0-3 since 2001.

Though the teams haven't met since 1940, the Bison are 13-3-2 in the series and have a 13-game unbeaten streak, dating back to 1923.

SOSU averages 331 yards passing and 116 yard rushing so far this season. Ryan Polite is 52 of 81 passing for four touchdowns and 662 yards. Three of those touchdowns have been tossed Franky Okafor's way. He has 13 receptions and 195 yards receiving.

Ronnie Green leads the ground game with 57.5 yards per game.

They'll come up against a banged-up OBU defense, which will get first-time starts this season from cornerback Phillip Spess, linebacker Sha'Hada Artberry and nose guard Houston Tyler. Ed Morgan, Jr., moves over from nose to defensive end.

The good news for the Bison is that leading tackler Zack Bishop is good to go at his linebacker spot.

The OBU offense looks to get moving this game after averaging 13 points through the first two contests. Dez Stegall gets the nod at quarterback, completing 18 of 29 passes for 95 yards. Isaiah Mallory leads the ground game with 22 carries for 81 yards.

The Massey Ratings aren't shining on the Bison this week with SOSU expected to win 38-21 according to the computer ranking.
