Oklahoma Baptist's women placed third and the men took 20th in the college division of the University of Arkansas Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival Saturday.
The Lady Bison finished behind only Montevallo and Colorado School of Mines, while topping No. 22 Dallas Baptist and NCAA Division II Central Region Top 10s Southwest Baptist, Harding, Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State.
OBU finished with 128 points, led by Abby Hoover in 30th place at 17:18. Miranda Dent was 54th at 17:48, followed by Kaylee Large in 90th at 18:13, Emily Sechrist in 106th at 18:26 and Sydney Lawrence in 131st in 18:36 to round out the scoring.
OBU's 6-7 placeholders were Katelyn Fritz at 18:52.64 and Madison Newton at 18:57.03.
Also for the Lady Bison, Kelsey Doty finished in 19:36, Zoya Timoshenko in 19:38, Victoria Joslin in 19:39, Lauren Franz in 19;55, Emily McCarthy in 20:09, Emily Banks in 20:34 and Dani Ingle in 23:25.
Jordan Masterson paced the Bison in 231st place at 26:44 on the eight-kilometer course, followed by Blaine Whitson in 27:00, Zach Poley at 27:17, Zach Widener at 27:19 and Nathan Crowson at 27:41.
Bison placeholders were Nathan Reed in 27:43 and Malique Lytle at 27:47.
Also for the OBU men, Tommy Uglean finished in 28:03, Nathan Whitson in 28:06 and Grant Alexander in 30:25.
The Bison finished with 599 points.
OBU returns to action Saturday, hosting the Bison Invitational at Gordon Cooper Technology Center.
