Lady Bison Claim Invitational

Abby Hoover and Miranda Dent gave Oklahoma Baptist a 1-2 finish for a team victory at the Bison Invitational Cross Country Meet Saturday at Gordon Cooper Technology Center.
 

OBU went 1-2-5-6-7 for 21 points and the victory. The OBU men's team finished third.

 
Hoover won the race in 17:34 with Dent coming in at 18:01. Kaylee Large placed fifth in 18:22.41 with Emily Sechrist right behind in sixth at 18:22.78. Sydney Lawrence captured seventh to round out the scoring in 18:27.

 
Kelsey Doty was 20^th at 19"17 and Madison Newton finished the place-holder spots in 24^th at 19:23.

 
Also for the Lady Bison were Victoria Joslin at 19:32, Zoya Timoshenko at 19:43, Lauren Franz at 20:04, Emily Banks at 20:36, Emily McCarthy at 21:01, Dani Ingle at 23:43 and Victoria Rivera at 25:33.

 
OBU won the meet with 21 points, followed by Oklahoma City at 45, Texas Wesleyan at 84, Texas A&M-Commerce at 104, Butler Community College at 154, No. 21 Dallas Baptist at 185, Rogers State at 193, Southern Nazarene at 210, Southeastern Oklahoma State at 231, St. Gregory's at 235, USAO at 354 and Langston at 372.

 
Butler won the men's race with 32 points, followed by Commerce with 46, OBU with 66, SNU at 120, RSU at 121, DBU at 155 and USAO at 208.

 
Ayoub Akil was 12^th to lead the Bison at 26:10, followed by Jacob Janzen in 15^th at 26:26, Blaine Whitson in 16^th at 26:36, Zachary Widener in 18^th at 26:40 and Jordan Masterson in 26^th at 26:57.

 
Zach Polley was 32^nd at 27:11 and Nathan Reed was 37^th at 27:22 to finish the place-holding Bison.

 
Also for the OBU men, Nathan Whitson ran in 27:46, followed by Malique Lytle at 28:12, Grant Alexander at 28:16 and Nathan Crowson at 28:58.

 
OBU runs in the Great American Conference Championship in Monticello, Ark., Oct. 24.
