SHAWNEE – Brian Stackhouse, the Oklahoma Baptist Director of Athletic Bands, announced that the Bison Brigade has teamed up Drum Corps International this year.
"OBU is all about providing a world-class education and experience for its students. A corporate partnership with Drum Corps International (DCI) is an imperative step to stay on the forefront of marching and musical innovations as the athletic art form continues to evolve and push the envelope," Stackhouse said.
For more than 50 years, DCI has been the leader in producing events for the world's most elite and exclusive marching ensembles for student musicians and performers. As of this writing, Oklahoma Baptist is the only university that is a corporate partner of DCI.
"Our students need to not only know the history and established methods, but also the trends currently being established to stay relevant with the activity," Stackhouse added.
