Volleyball Tabbed Second in GAC Preseason Coaches Poll

DARDANELLE, AR – After winning its fourth Great American Conference Tournament championship last season, Oklahoma Baptist volleyball has been selected to finish second in the GAC Preseason Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Despite earning the most first-place votes of any team (6), the Bison finished just three points behind Harding, which earned four first-place votes.

Ouachita Baptist earned the remaining two first-place votes to finish third in the poll, while Southwestern Oklahoma State and Arkansas Tech rounded out the top five.

Henderson State and East Central tied for sixth, while Southern Nazarene (8th), Southern Arkansas (9th), Southeastern Oklahoma State (10th), Northwestern Oklahoma State (11th), and Arkansas-Monticello (12th) finished out the bottom half.

The top eight teams in the league's regular season standings qualify for the GAC Tournament, slated for Nov. 12-14 at Fire Lake Arena in Shawnee

OBU is coming off an incredible 2025 campaign which saw the Bison take home the GAC Tournament trophy for the second time in the last three seasons, advancing to the NCAA Central Regional for the third time in program history.

Oklahoma Baptist returns over 60 percent of its offensive output this season, and kicks off the 2026 campaign with a trip to the BritKare Lady Buff Classic, hosted by West Texas A&M, from Aug. 28-29.
