RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – It came as no surprise that on Wednesday the Great American Conference named
Morgan Simmons its Women's Golfer of the Week.
She's just the fifth Bison golfer to earn the honor in the Division II era and first since Morgan Becker was selected on Oct. 4, 2024.
During the Northeastern State University Golf Classic, Simmons won the individual title, her first, by shooting an even-par 142 (68-74). Her first-round mark of 68, three-under, was an OBU single-round record. It bested Becker's two-under 70 attained on Apr. 3-4, 2023 at the Newman Invitational.
Simmons and the rest of the Bison return to action on Oct. 5-6 at the Grace Shin Invite held at Kickingbird Golf Club in Edmond.
