RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist, once again, placed numerous team members on the All-Great American Conference Softball team announced on Wednesday. Plus, for the fourth straight season, the program produced the GAC Player of the Year, this time senior shortstop
Greenlee Wells.
The 2026 awards went as followed: on the All-GAC First Team was Wells,
Ally Ryan and
Katelyn Kilgore.
Jaycee Shaffer and
Kaley Cook earned second-team honors while
Jaycee Kelln,
Abby Laskowski,
Nichelle Marshall and
Haley Hacker were recognized as All-GAC Honorable Mention.
In the classroom, Ryan was named an Elite Scholar Athlete for the third time in her career.
Wells' senior season is one of the greatest in OBU history. The GAC Player of the Year broke four school records. Those include homers (19), runs (55), RBI (60) and walks (66). Plus, the Vian, Okla., native had a D2-OBU record three home runs in the Feb. 13 game versus Northeastern State. Wells leads the GAC in slugging (.954), OPS (1.569), RBI, homers and walks.
Ryan is now a two-time first-team honoree. She's got 14 homers and 44 RBI, which are slotted top-six in the GAC. During the 33-game conference season, Ryan batted .346 and had an OPS of 1.098. Furthermore, the Frisco, Texas native moved her OBU career homer total to 41, ranked second all-time, and she's got 135 RBI. That's the fifth-highest mark.
OBU's other All-GAC First Team winner was Kilgore. The transfer from UC-Colorado Springs hit .305, produced 39 hits, five doubles and 17 RBI. On the defensive end, she collected 98 putouts and seven assists.
Shaffer and Cook garnered their second career All-GAC honors, joining the second team this spring.
For Shaffer, she had the second-most wins (20) and strikeouts (169). Plus, her 174.2 innings pitched were slotted third in the league. Shaffer's best outing was on Feb. 6 when she tossed 7.0 innings, didn't allow an earned run and fanned a career-high 15.
As for Cook, her 71 hits are second-best in the GAC and her 48 steals are tops in the league and a single-season OBU record. The sophomore is batting .376 this year and has scored 45 runs, fifth-best in the GAC.
The remaining four Bison honorees, Kelln, Laskowski, Marshall and Hacker joined the all-conference list for the first time.
In the circle, Kelln's 15 wins are most by a GAC freshmen and her 130 strikeouts are slotted fifth. The Alva native is also slotted top-eight with 19 looking strikeouts. Kelln has tossed 135.0 innings, limited opponents to a .247 average and posted a 2.70 ERA. She struck out a season-high 10 batters at Northeastern State on April 14 too.
Laskowski's 2026 season has been the best of her career. She's got a personal-best .280 average and 13 extra-base hits, including six homers. The Hemet, Calif., came into her junior year with five extra-base knocks. Plus, she's driven in 21, drawn 16 walks and collected 236 putouts with a .970 fielding mark.
Marshall and Hacker, both sophomores, rounded out OBU's selections. For Marshall, she's got 10 homers, a .338 average, 31 RBI, 46 hits and ranks inside the top-10 of the GAC in slugging (.610) and OPS (1.058).
For Hacker, her batting average (.371), slugging mark (.615), on-base percentage (.452) and OPS (1.067) are all slotted top-10 in the GAC. Like Wells, Hacker had a three home-run game against Southeastern Oklahoma State on March 28.
