Cook Earns GAC Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist sophomore Kaley Cook received her first career Great American Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday.

During the Bison's series win at No. 8-ranked (NFCA) Southern Arkansas this past weekend, she recorded multiple hits in every game, notched a .538 batting average and totaled 10 bases.

Cook also scored twice, drove in two, hit a home run and produced a .769 slugging mark and .571 on-base percentage.

In the process, the centerfielder drove her season hits total to 71. That's second in the GAC and third-most in OBU single-season history.

Cook and the Bison return to action on May 7 at 6 p.m. when they face Southeastern Oklahoma State in the GAC Tournament from Bentonville, Ark.
