FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist high jump specialist
Jamora Horace broke the school's outdoor record in that event during the Arkansas Razorbacks Springtime Invitational on April 11.
Her jump of 1.83 meters bested program great Akela Jones' effort of 1.80 in the 2013 season and currently stands as the number one effort in NCAA Division II this spring. Also, Horace's jump was a meet record on Saturday in Fayetteville.
In the same event, sophomore
Jacey Hammon did well too, earning fifth place with a personal-best jump of 1.70 meters. Hammon's effort also met NCAA outdoor qualifying standards.
Freshman
Trista Etheridge notched another top-ten finish for OBU. In the 800-meter run, she took ninth with a time of 2:11.66. Teammates
Mekenzie Lyda and
Shayna Hendrix followed in 11th (2:11.94) and 12th place (2:13.38), respectively.
Diamond Lewis added a personal-best time in the 100-meter hurdles. She clocked a 14.24 finish which was good for 14th place. In the 400 hurdles,
Tenera Gray PR'd with a time of 1:02.98. That slotted her in 13th.
Furthermore, Gray earned 12th in the long jump (5.41m) while
Olivia Tate took 17th in the 100-meter dash (11.77). Plus,
Kieran Paxton took ninth in the 1,500-meter run (4:51.12).
