Bison Take Two at East Central

ADA – Oklahoma Baptist (10-9, 5-6 GAC) earned a pair of Great American Conference wins at East Central on Sunday, winning in shutout fashion, 16-0, and 12-7 in game two.

GAME ONE
OBU erupted for 20 hits and dominant pitching in a 16-0 shutout in the opener.

The Bison wasted little time setting the tone, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. An early RBI single from Tui Amosa opened the scoring before Braden Smith and Matt Marsic added run-producing hits to give Oklahoma Baptist a quick 4-0 advantage.

OBU added three more runs in the second inning and continued to pile on in the fourth, highlighted by Amosa's two-run home run to left center. The Bison plated five runs in that frame and four more in the fifth to stretch the lead to 16-0. Keenan Morris, Kaleb Latimer and Ben Green all drove in runs in the fifth to balloon the Bison's advantage.

Amosa led the offensive outburst, going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Marsic finished a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, while Green added three hits and three RBI. Latimer chipped in two hits and three RBI, and Morris recorded two hits and two RBI as OBU's lineup produced nine extra-base hits.

On the mound, Kody Bialas earned the win with a strong five-inning outing. The right-hander did not allow a hit while striking out seven and working around five walks. Nick Cozzi handled the final two innings, surrendering the Tigers' lone hit while preserving the shutout.

East Central managed just one hit in the contest, a sixth-inning single from Max Tremblay, as the Bison pitching staff combined to limit the Tigers throughout the afternoon.

GAME TWO
Oklahoma Baptist erupted early and held off a mid-game push from ECU to secure a 12–7 win during the second contest.

The Bison wasted no time setting the tone, scoring four runs in the opening inning. After a two-out double from Quinn Johnson, Zane Bennett launched a two-run homer to left field. Two batters later, Braden Smith followed with a two-run blast of his own, giving OBU a quick 4–0 advantage.

OBU added another run in the second before East Central responded with a five-run frame to tie the game at 5–5. The Tigers used timely hits, including a two-RBI single from Cooper McCage and an RBI double from Max Tremblay, to erase the early deficit.

The Bison immediately answered with their biggest inning of the day. OBU exploded for seven runs in the third, capitalizing on an East Central error and stringing together several key hits. Latimer delivered an RBI double, Lucas Schaefer added an RBI single, and Morris capped the rally with a two-run double to push the lead to 12–5.

East Central added two runs in the bottom of the third, but the Bison pitching staff shut the door the rest of the way.

Marcus Peters (2–1) earned the win, striking out seven over 4.2 innings. Grayson Connell provided strong relief, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings to secure the victory.

OBU finished with 15 hits, led by multi-hit performances from Johnson, Bennett, Morris, Schaefer, Amosa, and Green.
