RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Greenlee Wells, senior shortstop for the Oklahoma Baptist Bison softball program, earned her fourth Great American Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday.
Last week, Wells helped lead the No. 14 Bison to a 4-1 record which included a three-game sweep of GAC foe Henderson State. Those results bumped OBU's record to 25-3 and 12-0 in league play.
Wells batted .500 & scored seven runs and notched seven RBI. She also only struck out once in the five games and posted a 1.000 slugging mark with .667 on-base percentage.
So far this season, Wells is putting up national-player-of-the-year type numbers. She's the NCAA leader with 15 homers and 50 RBI and also ranks third with 97 total bases. The Vian, Okla., native is also second with a 1.228 slugging percentage and sixth in on-base percentage (.627).
