No. 14 Bison Welcomes Cameron on Wednesday

SHAWNEE – Winners of 10 straight, 14th-ranked (NFCA) Oklahoma Baptist (21-2) hosts Cameron University on Wednesday, March 11 for a 4 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.

The Aggies have fared well against OBU, leading the all-time series 6-2. Last season, Cameron won by 9-8 and 4-3 scores.

Todd Miller will be on the call of the doubleheader along with communications director Clayton Coffman in the pre- and post-game portions of the broadcast. Below are notes and tidbits for both teams.

For the Bison:
The No. 14 national ranking is OBU's highest since a No. 18 ranking two seasons ago.

OBU's 10 consecutive wins marks the fourth straight season that the green and gold have had a streak of at least that total. It's also the eighth-longest streak in the nation.

Greenlee Wells earned Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week honors on March 10. Only two other Bison have earned that honor: Kayleigh Jones and current teammate Ally Ryan during the 2024 campaign.

Wells is the Division II leader with 14 homers, 43 RBI and 87 total bases.

Historically speaking, Ryan's 36 homers are second-most in OBU history while Wells' 29 is fourth-highest. Plus, Ryan's 113 RBI is a top-10 career total.

On the offensive end, as a team, OBU is the national leader in homers per game (1.52) and second with 35 total homers. Plus, the team is fourth in slugging (.581) and sixth in walks drawn (101) and 12th with 55 stolen bags.

In 19 of 23 games played, OBU has scored at least five runs, and it ranks inside the top-30 in scoring offense (7.17).

OBU pitching has been solid too. The team's earned run average of 2.59 is 36th in the nation. They also rank 17th in strikeouts per seven innings (7.09).

Individually, Jaycee Shaffer's 12 wins are No. 3 nationally while freshman Jaycee Kelln's eight are slotted 23rd. Also, Kelln's two shutouts are a top-25 mark.

For the Aggies:
Cameron is 4-6 in its last 10 games and is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Texas A&M International on March 8.

The Aggies have walked a lot of batters to this point, 100 over 153.2 innings in fact. They rank 169th in D2 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.12). Plus, the staff's 5.58 ERA is slotted 204th out of 263 schools ranked.

Offensively, the Aggies' 203 hits are ranked No. 31 in D2 and their 127 RBI is ranked 26th.

In the circle, Madison Fulfer's 5.30 ERA leads the team while Stormee Reed has staff-highs in strikeouts (58), wins (3) and innings pitched (53.2). For Reed, her strikeout total is a top-50 NCAA mark.

Sophomore Haley Gardella is second in the country with 11 homers. She's also sixth with 39 hits and 22nd in slugging (.919).

Lastly, Kyndel McDaniel has a .319 batting average with four doubles and four homers.
