SHAWNEE, Okla. – A dominant start and clutch fourth‑quarter execution powered Oklahoma Baptist to a 76–70 win over Henderson State on Thursday night inside the Noble Complex. The victory moves the Bison to 12–13 overall and keeps post season hopes alive.
OBU came out firing, shooting 66.7% in the opening quarter and racing to a 22–15 lead behind efficient scoring in the paint and early defensive stops. The Bison maintained control through halftime, leading 35–28 after limiting HSU to 30.8% shooting in the second quarter.
The momentum continued into the third as OBU extended its advantage to double digits with a 17–13 period, highlighted by strong downhill attacking from the guards and interior finishes. Despite Henderson State surging for 29 fourth‑quarter points, the Bison remained in control by converting at the free‑throw line and executing late.
Senior
Jaedyn Getman delivered one of her best performances of the season, posting 22 points and a game‑high 12 rebounds for a double‑double. She shot 9-of-18 from the floor and added three assists and a steal, anchoring OBU on both ends.
Jordyn Anderson followed with 18 points, including a crucial 10-of-14 showing at the free‑throw line. She added six assists, seven rebounds, and two steals, consistently generating offense and stabilizing the Bison in late‑game situations.
Katelyn Davis contributed eight points, three rebounds, and a pair of assists, while
Brenna Butler added eight points, four steals, and three assists defensively. Off the bench,
Sydney Duncan provided a major spark with seven points and five rebounds, and
Reagan Fox and
Parker Stevenson combined for 13 points and six boards.
As a team, OBU shot 42.9% from the field and attacked the paint aggressively, posting 40 points inside and 19 fast‑break points. The Bison held a 40–32 rebounding advantage, converted 25-of-33 free throws, and forced Henderson State into 12 turnovers.
Henderson State was led by Jayla Lewis' 26 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from beyond the arc, and Grayson Fairless' 12 points. But despite a late offensive push, the Reddies never managed to tie or take the lead at any point in the game.
