DURANT, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist came out strong and led for much of the afternoon, but a cold fourth quarter proved costly as the Bison fell 60–56 to Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday inside Bloomer Sullivan Arena. The loss drops OBU to 11–12 overall and 7–10 in GAC play.
OBU opened the game with one of its best offensive quarters of the season, shooting 53.8 percent in the first period and taking a 19–18 lead into the break. The Bison continued to build momentum in the second, holding the Savage Storm to just nine points and stretching the halftime advantage to 35–27.
Senior
Jaedyn Getman anchored the Bison interior with 12 points and six rebounds, going 6-of-14 from the field. She added two assists and a steal while battling constant pressure in the paint.
Brenna Butler and
Jordyn Anderson shared team-high scoring honors with 14 points apiece. Butler knocked down three triples and finished 5-of-9 from the floor, while Anderson delivered another all-around performance: 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a perfect 1-for-1 from deep.
Katelyn Davis pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go with five points and an assist, and
Parker Stevenson contributed five points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal in 34 minutes. Off the bench,
Sydney Duncan added six points on a perfect 2-of-2 from beyond the arc.
As a team, OBU shot 37.0 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three (8-of-19). However, the Bison struggled late, scoring just eight points in the fourth quarter while shooting 18.2 percent in the final frame.
