CLAREMORE – Oklahoma Baptist's season-opening race at Rogers State's Distance After Dark Meet was a good one as the team captured first place in a field of 14 teams.
For Crayton, he was the top finisher for OBU who placed four runners inside the top-10 of the standings. The senior clocked the four-mile run in 20:27.1 which was good for fifth place overall.
After that,
Jonah Grein,
Brody Woodcock and
Levi Haynes took eighth through tenth place, respectively. Grein, a freshman, crossed the finish line in 20:33.1 while Woodcock and Haynes followed at 20:35.0 and 20:38.3, respectively. Those were both personal-best times for those two.
The Bison also landed the 13th through 15th-place slots. That included
Cameron Langdon (20:45.1),
Elijah White (20:45.8) and
Zachary Williams (20:49.9).
Also of note,
Ira Gikas finished in 17th overall with a time of 20:55.2.
There is some time before the Bison's next meet. That comes Sept. 26 at Oklahoma State's Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater.
