SHAWNEE – With just four matches left in the regular season, Oklahoma Baptist volleyball looks to close out the season strong when it travels to Southern Nazarene (Oct. 27) before hosting Southwestern Oklahoma State (Oct. 29) this week.
The Bison (19-5, 11-1 GAC) need two more victories to wrap up the top seed in next month's Great American Conference Tournament, and three more wins to win an outright GAC regular-season title. Tuesday's match up with Southern Nazarene (15-11, 7-5) is a rematch of a five-set thriller from Sept. 17 when the Bison picked a 3-2 win.
Thursday's match against Southwestern Oklahoma State (15-9, 8-4) is a rematch of the Sept. 15 contest where the Bison swept the Bulldogs, 3-0.
BISON LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK
- Oklahoma Baptist enters the weekend at 19-5 overall and 11-1 in Great American Conference play after suffering its first conference loss of the season Tuesday night at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
- The Bison had won 11 straight GAC matches before the setback and remain firmly in the hunt near the top of the conference standings.
HOME STRETCH
- Only four regular-season matches remain on the schedule as OBU hosts Southern Nazarene on Tuesday before traveling to face Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday.
- Oklahoma Baptist will close out the regular season with a road contest at Northwestern Oklahoma State (Nov. 3) before hosting East Central (Nov. 5).
- The Bison will look to strengthen their postseason positioning entering the final two weeks of the regular season.
