Bison Hold Off UAM

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist used a balanced offensive effort and timely plays down the stretch to secure a 65–60 Great American Conference win over Arkansas–Monticello on Friday evening inside the Noble Complex.

The contest featured four lead changes and two ties, with OBU building an early advantage before withstanding a late push from the Blossoms. The Bison led 32–23 at halftime and never trailed in the second half, though UAM cut the margin to five in the final seconds.

Jaedyn Getman led all scorers with 21 points to go along with four rebounds, helping anchor OBU's inside scoring attack. Katelyn Davis added 16 points, including three three-pointers, while Jordyn Anderson and Brenna Butler each chipped in 10 points. Butler also contributed five assists and four rebounds.

OBU shot 42.3 percent from the field and matched UAM with five made three-pointers while capitalizing at the free-throw line, knocking down 16-of-23 attempts. The Lady Bison turned defense into offense as well, forcing 20 turnovers and scoring 15 points off those miscues.

Arkansas–Monticello was led by Alyssa Batton, who scored 19 points, while Brilynn Findley and Taleigha Ealy each finished with 10. The Blossoms shot 46.0 percent from the floor but were limited to just 5-of-16 shooting from beyond the arc.

OBU opened the game on a strong note, outscoring UAM 19–12 in the first quarter and extending the lead to nine by halftime. The Blossoms found their rhythm offensively in the third quarter, but Oklahoma Baptist responded with key baskets to maintain control heading into the final frame.

Down the stretch, free throws and defensive stops allowed OBU to keep the Blossoms at bay and seal the five-point victory.
