ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist saw a strong first quarter undone by a big second-period surge from Ouachita Baptist, falling 83–64 on Thursday night inside Vining Arena.
The Bison (7–8, 3–6 GAC) opened the evening with energy, jumping out to a 16–12 lead after one quarter behind solid defensive effort. Ouachita responded in the second, outscoring OBU 27–9 to take a 39–25 advantage into halftime and seize control of the matchup.
OBU battled throughout the second half and found an offensive rhythm late, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter, but the deficit proved too large to overcome as the Tigers (9–4, 6–3 GAC) closed out the conference victory.
Jaedyn Getman led all Bison in scoring with 19 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc while pulling down seven rebounds.
Katelyn Davis added 12 points and seven rebounds, while
Sydney Duncan provided a spark off the bench, finishing with eight points on a perfect 2-for-2 shooting from three-point range.
Oklahoma Baptist shot 37.5 percent from the field and connected on 6-of-18 from deep. The Tigers held a 46.3 percent shooting mark and outscored the Bison 42–26 in the paint, while also turning 17 OBU turnovers into 22 points.
