No. 4 Bronchos Notch Victory over Bison

EDMOND -- Oklahoma Baptist battled hard but couldn't overcome a balanced Central Oklahoma attack, falling in straight sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-20) Tuesday inside Hamilton Field House.

The Bison (3-2) pushed the undefeated Bronchos (5-0) throughout the night, keeping each frame tight before Central Oklahoma closed strong in key moments.

After a competitive opening set, OBU nearly leveled the match in the second, rallying to 23 points before UCO sealed it with consecutive kills. The third followed a similar script, with the Bronchos maintaining composure down the stretch to secure the sweep.

Rylee Unruh paced the Bison offense with 12 kills on 40 swings, while Allie Stricker added 10 kills and two blocks. Mackenzie Frazee provided six kills at a .235 clip, and Melody Donegan chipped in five kills with a .250 percentage. Setter Emily Boyer dished out 18 assists with 13 digs and libero Karsyn Hunter added 10 digs of her own.  Plus, Unruh contributed 13 digs on the defensive end.

Oklahoma Baptist hit .157 as a team, showing flashes of efficiency but struggling to match Central Oklahoma's consistency. The Bronchos finished with a .242 hitting percentage and registered six blocks.

UCO spread its offense effectively, led by Kedron Burk's 10 kills on an impressive .409 hitting mark. Kamryn Glover (9 kills) and Riley Roberts (6 kills, .429) gave steady support, while setter Lindsey Houran orchestrated the attack with 35 assists.

The Bison head to Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday in Arcata, California. Their first match on Sept. 11 comes against the host Lumberjacks with first serve at 9 p.m. central.
