Frazee Named GAC Defensive Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist sophomore Mackenzie Frazee had a weekend to remember, registering a whopping 23.0 blocks during West Texas A&M's BritKare Lady Buff Classic in Canyon.

For her efforts, the 6-foot-3 middle blocker was named Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. It's her first career honor.

Over 14 sets played, Frazee notched 15 solo blocks, eight block assists and averaged 1.64 per set. She started the season with five against Colorado State University Pueblo before registering 11 against Texas A&M International.

Her total of 11 against the Dustdevils was the second-best single-match performance in OBU history. That mark was one off the school's single-match record held by three players, most recently by Taneyah Brown against Northwestern Oklahoma State on March 9, 2021.

Frazee then added three and four more blocks against Western Colorado and No. 8 West Texas A&M, respectively, on Sept. 6.

As of this writing, Frazee's 1.64 blocks per set average is ranked No. 12 in NCAA Division II while her 23 total blocks are tied for 17th.
