RICHARDSON, Texas -- Oklahoma Baptist opened its 2025 season on the road Thursday but fell 5-0 to Texas-Dallas at the UTD Soccer Complex in Richardson.
The Comets struck quickly in the first half and never looked back. Chelsea Vilca provided the spark, scoring in the 22nd minute off an assist from Kira Schkade before doubling the lead just 65 seconds later with an unassisted strike. Texas-Dallas extended its advantage to 3-0 in the 36th minute when Gabby Thompson finished a feed from Vilca, sending the Comets into halftime firmly in control.
Oklahoma Baptist managed just one shot in the opening frame but generated more pressure in the second, totaling four attempts, including efforts from
Addison Gray and
Hali White. However, UTD goalkeeper McKenzie Hunninghake kept a clean sheet with two saves.
The Comets padded their lead in the 60th minute when Thompson buried a penalty kick for her second goal of the match. Grace Pritchard capped the scoring in the 72nd minute, converting on an assist from Jules Chavez to make it 5-0.

Jolee King stayed busy throughout, registering four saves on 12 UTD shots, nine of which were on target. Gray and White each recorded a shot on goal for the Bison, who showed improvement in possession and opportunities during the second half.
On Saturday the 6th, the green and gold will face No. 18 Angelo State in San Angelo at 1 p.m.
