GREENWOOD, Ind. – Oklahoma Baptist softball players
Ally Ryan,
Jaycee Shaffer and
Greenlee Wells were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have a 3.50 grade point average or higher, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials.
Ryan is now a two-time recipient of the award while Shaffer and Wells earned their first career honors. Plus, Shaffer has advanced to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
A computer information systems major, Ryan earned 52 starts during the spring. She dialed up eight homers, including the walk-off slam versus rival Southern Nazarene in the GAC Tournament Semifinals, and drove in 30 runs. During conference play, the junior from Frisco, Texas native hit .310 and by the end of the season, Ryan was named a GAC All-Tournament Team member.
In the pitcher's circle was Shaffer, another junior and exercise science major. She was instrumental for the Bison's success in 2025, going 19-3 in the circle. Her winning percentage of .863 winning percentage was the third-best in school history and she was an All-GAC First Team honoree as well as GAC All-Tournament Team selection. The Cyril, Okla., native finished with 158 strikeouts, fourth-most in the league, and a 2.40 ERA, sixth-best in the GAC.
Wells, a junior graphic design major from Vian, Okla., was another key contributor for the 36-17 OBU team that made the GAC Tournament Championship game for the first time. She led the GAC with 15 homers and a .776 slugging percentage. Plus, she ranked fourth with 52 RBI. Wells also posted 17 doubles, third-most in the league, and was a GAC All-Tournament Team member.
