SHAWNEE – For the eighth time in her career, standout Oklahoma Baptist women's student-athlete
Jade Byrd was named Great American Conference Field Athlete of the Week.
During the John Jacobs Collegiate Invitational at Oklahoma last weekend, she earned an NCAA Divisional mark in the discus. Her top effort reached 49.33 meters. That performance was good for seventh, and the second-best among non-Division I members.
It was also the fifth-best effort in Division II this outdoor season. Plus, Byrd added a ninth-place showing in the hammer throw.
Oklahoma Baptist returns to action this weekend at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kansas as well as the Arkansas Springtime Invite in Fayetteville.
