SHAWNEE – For the second time this outdoor season, and third overall, Oklahoma Baptist's
Valerie Olson was named the Great American Conference's Track Athlete of the Week.
She was previously honored on April 1 and Feb. 5.
This time around, Olson, a native of Battle Ground, Wash., was voted on for her efforts at the Bryan Clay Invitational last week. She was part of the runner-up 4x400 relay team which recorded the No. 2 performance in the country at 3:38.22.
She followed that up with a seventh-place showing in the 100 hurdles with an NCAA provisional time of 14.03. That's currently the top mark in the GAC and 28th nationally.
Olson and OBU return to competition this coming Friday, April 25 at Arkansas' John McDonnell Invite in Fayetteville.
